CEA Sponsorships

Coral Edge Adventures is proud to sponsor many organizations providing conservation efforts, scientific endeavors, training, support, and research efforts.

Paleo Quest SponsorshipCoral Edge Adventures works closely with Paleo Quest to support our scientific endeavors. The owners, Jim and Joe Murray, and their staff provide technical training, planning support for research efforts, as well as air, gear and repairs.

Through their support, Paleo Quest has expanded its research capacity and technical expertise. In the past two years, the technical and material support provided by Coral Edge Adventures has resulted in the recovery of hundreds of fossil specimens, including many fossils that likely represent species unknown to science. Among these new fossils is a collection of over 30 bones representing two new species and a new genus that will be featured in a publication by a Smithsonian scientist (and co-authored by Paleo Quest scientists). Stay tuned for the release of the paper as part of the Calvert Volume, edited by Stephen Godfrey (Summer, 2013).

Paleo Quest and Coral Edge Adventures are currently exploring the possibility of establishing a quick response technical dive team capable of identifying and rescuing submerged fossils threatened by commercial activity in the Maryland and Virginia area.

Paleo Quest in the news with their "brewing for science literacy":
"We swabbed whale bones we found while diving 30ft in black water swamps along the Atlantic Coastal Plain", states Jason Osborne, co-founder of Paleo Quest, a non-profit dedicated to advancing paleontology and geology.
